International Patients FAQ'S
Find out everything you need to know before travelling to a foreign country for you medical treatment. Panacea Hospital believes in transparency of medical treatments and services. Read below to understand how to plan a hassle free medical travel
How to plan your international visit?
  • Consult a qualified medical professional to know if you are fit enough to travel overseas and can withstand long-distance flights
  • Make sure the hospital you wish to go to is licensed and preferably accredited by a recognized healthcare agency
  • Cost and quality of patient care should be kept in mind before finalizing the hospital for your treatment
  • Get details about the doctor, including professional achievements, qualifications and credentials. Cross-check with existing patients if possible or do an internet search to look for details of the hospital you are considering
  • Educate yourself about the medical procedure that is contemplated and compare your expectations with what is achievable. Also note the necessary follow-up care, time required for recovery, and physical therapy if any
  • The decision on treatment can be made only after the patient meets with the doctor. Most hospitals do not guarantee any kind of medical treatment without personal examination which may include diagnostic tests.  The exception is if it is a very clear case wherein the possible outcome is absolutely clear or the procedure is commonplace
  • In some cases your doctor, upon examination, may decide you are not fit for surgery or may recommend treatment different from what you had planned
  • You must ensure that you always carry necessary medical documents  like X-Rays, MRIs, Medical records, Immunization records, Prescriptions and any other  records relevant to the treatment
  • You will need a valid passport for yourself and your travel companion (if any). Depending on the country you are travelling from, you may or may not need a Visa
  • Carry some local currency, travelers cheques and one or two major credit cards and debit cards
  • Carry your driver’s license and make sure it remains valid through your travels
